Dog trainer well-treated in custody, says lawyer - The Star Online

PETALING JAYA: Police treated dog trainer Maznah Mohd Yusof with professsionalism when she was remanded for two days over a video in which she made a Hari Raya greeting along with her dogs.

Her lawyer G. Visvanathan Nair said Maznah had told him she was well-treated. However, she voiced disappointment that her personal information had been leaked on Facebook.

Meanwhile, a relative of Maznah's who declined to be named said she was still in shock over what had happened the last few days and deeply hurt that she had been grossly misunderstood.

"Maznah made the video in good faith and did not intend to offend anyone. As a Muslim, the last thing she would do is to do or say something that would insult her religion," he said.

He added that Maznah, also known as Chetz Togom, wanted some time to be alone.

A 104-second clip of Maznah celebrating Hari Raya with her dogs three years ago had been uploaded on YouTube on Monday by a user known only as "acaiseven fiska".

The video kicked up a social media storm, which resulted in several police reports – including the first made in Segamat on Tuesday – being lodged against her.

She was then taken to Segamat by police and held under remand there. She was later released on a court bond.
