Stop beating about the bush, DAP leaders told - New Straits Times

Former MIC strategic vice-chairman Datuk R. Ramanan said both should stop beating about the bush over matters concerning alleged irregularities during the party's central executive committee (CEC) election last year.

"They will continue twisting facts and spreading lies to the Chinese community.

"And this political sandiwara (play-acting) has to stop," he said, adding that RoS should not hesitate to take action.

RoS had on Tuesday issued a notice to DAP ordering it to hold a fresh CEC election, but the party leadership, headed by Kit Siang and Guan Eng, refused to do so.

Ramanan said RoS must consider the numerous complaints filed by former or other DAP members on the party's election fiasco.

In December, 753 DAP members had complained of being denied their right to attend as delegates at the party's congress where the CEC election was held.

Later, party election came under the spotlight when its party leadership claimed a technical glitch had occurred during the CEC election.

After the glitch, party activist Vincent Wu was moved to the 26th spot from his original sixth spot, giving way to Zairil Abdullah, who was originally in the 39th position, to be moved to the 20th.

This enabled Zairil to be elected a CEC member.
